Mr. Bailey,  Reading Capt. Barney's late gallant exploit in
your and other newspapers, I could not restrain myself from
scribbling the few following stanzas relative to that
affair. . . [3 lines, signed] Rusticus.  Dover, April 26,
1782.
To the tune of The Tempest; or, Hosier's Ghost.
  Oe'r the waste of waters cruising, 
  Long the General Monk had reign'd;
  All subduing, all reducing, 
  None her lawless rage restrain'd:
  Many a brave and hearty fellow
  Yielding to this warlike foe
  When her gun began to bellow, 
  Struck his humbled colours low.
